Documented Activity
Patrols, incidents and important site activity can be recorded for client review and follow-up.
Flexible Deployment
Arrange urgent, temporary, overnight, project-based or contract security guarding where available.
Security Guarding Built Around Your Site
Security guarding—also commonly called manned guarding or static guarding—places a trained officer at your premises to carry out agreed protection, access, patrol and reporting duties.
The officer’s role should reflect how the property operates, the people who use it and the risks that need to be controlled. Before cover begins, we establish the required duties, access arrangements, patrol routes, reporting lines, emergency contacts and escalation procedures.
Security guards can work independently or alongside CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, mobile patrols, keyholding and internal management procedures. The aim is a practical assignment that supports the operation rather than a generic uniformed presence.

What Our Security Guards Can Do
Duties are agreed for each assignment. These are common examples rather than a fixed package.
Access Control
Manage visitors, contractors, vehicles, deliveries, keys, passes and restricted areas in line with site procedures.
Security Patrols
Check buildings, boundaries, yards, plant, fire points, vulnerable areas and signs of damage or unauthorised activity.
Incident Response
Respond calmly to alarms, unauthorised access, conflict, safety concerns and unexpected incidents within the agreed role.
Gatehouse & Reception
Provide a professional front-of-house presence while supporting security, access, visitor and delivery procedures.
Lock-Up & Unlock
Secure or open agreed areas, check doors and windows, set or unset alarms and report irregularities.
Reporting & Escalation
Record incidents and patrol activity, notify responsible contacts and preserve a clear account of important events.

Guarding Records Clients Can Review
Where agreed for the assignment, our patrol and incident reporting system can provide a documented record of security activity rather than relying only on handwritten notes or verbal updates.
- Time-, date- and location-recorded patrol activity.
- NFC or QR checkpoint records for agreed patrol routes.
- Factual incident and occurrence reports.
- Supporting photographs or video where appropriate and authorised.
- Escalation to nominated client contacts.
- Client-accessible reports or portal access where included in the service.
The reporting arrangement, data access and evidence requirements are agreed in the assignment instructions before the service begins.
Need Security Cover at Short Notice?
Call with the location, required hours, preferred start date, duties and reason for cover. We will review the requirement and confirm whether suitable staffing and mobilisation are available.
Security Guards for Different Sectors
The duties, presentation and risks vary between sectors. Guarding should be designed for the environment rather than copied from another site.

Construction & Demolition
Protect plant, materials, fuel, tools, compounds, temporary buildings and partly completed work.

Warehousing & Logistics
Support gatehouses, vehicle movements, deliveries, yards, stock control and out-of-hours protection.

Energy & Industrial Sites
Manage access, contractors, perimeters, critical equipment and operational continuity.

Corporate & Gatehouse
Provide reception support, visitor management, contractor control, access checks and site patrols.

Aviation & Airfields
Protect aircraft, hangars, remote locations, controlled areas and specialist aviation projects.

Events & Temporary Venues
Support access, restricted areas, visitor safety and temporary operational requirements.
Event guarding is planned against the venue, access arrangements, audience, timetable and expected duties.
Other Environments We Support
Film & TV productions
Discreet access control, equipment protection and location security.
Hotels & hospitality
Guest-facing patrol, reception and incident support.
Retail environments
Visible deterrence, staff support and conflict management.
Schools & education
Entrance, event, boarding and safeguarding support.
Vacant & remote property
Protection against trespass, vandalism, theft and unnoticed damage.
Ports & docked vessels
Access, patrol and asset-protection duties subject to the site requirements and officer competencies.
Selecting and Briefing the Right Officer
A guarding assignment is stronger when the officer is selected for the actual role rather than placed simply because a shift is available.
- Relevant SIA licence: matched to the duties the officer is expected to perform.
- Role suitability: considering the sector, access duties, public contact and expected incidents.
- Communication and presentation: particularly for gatehouse, reception, education, hospitality and corporate assignments.
- Shift and welfare suitability: including travel, lone working, facilities and the practical demands of the assignment.
- Site briefing: covering the assignment instructions, contacts, patrols, reporting and escalation arrangements.
Where continuity is important, the service plan should also address handovers, relief cover, supervision and how changes are communicated to the security team.

How Our Guarding Service Is Mobilised
A defined mobilisation process helps the officer understand the assignment and gives the client a clear service from the beginning.
1. Discuss the Requirement
We confirm the location, hours, purpose, main risks and duties expected of the officer.
2. Review the Site
Where needed, we assess entrances, boundaries, patrol routes, welfare, communications and emergency arrangements.
3. Agree the Assignment
The proposal defines the hours, duties, responsibilities, reporting, costs and service limitations.
4. Select and Brief Officers
Suitable officers are allocated and briefed on the approved duties, contacts, patrols and exceptions.
5. Deploy, Supervise and Review
Cover begins after staffing and site arrangements are confirmed, with changes made when the operation or risk evolves.
What Affects the Cost of Security Guards?
Guarding is quoted against the actual assignment rather than one standard hourly rate for every site.
Hours and Shift Pattern
Day, night, weekend and bank-holiday requirements can affect staffing and cost.
Location and Duration
Travel, minimum shift lengths, short-notice deployment and contract duration are considered.
Duties and Risk
Complex access, lone working, high-value assets and specialist responsibilities may require additional planning.
Number of Officers
Some environments require more than one officer to manage the risks safely and effectively.
A written quotation should define the service, total hours, responsibilities and what is included before cover begins.

Security Guarding Questions
Do your security officers hold SIA licences?
Yes. Officers are allocated with the relevant SIA licence required for the duties they are expected to carry out.
Are your security guarding operations insured?
Yes. MW Global Security Services maintains insurance for its security operations. Any client-specific insurance requirement should be confirmed during the quotation process.
Can you provide temporary or short-notice guarding?
Temporary and urgent cover may be available depending on the location, duties, shift length, start date and suitable officer availability. Call directly when the requirement is time-sensitive.
Can security guards monitor CCTV and alarms?
Officers can monitor site systems where this forms part of the agreed assignment. Where the duties require a particular licence or competency, an appropriately qualified officer must be allocated.
Can one security officer work alone?
Some assignments can be safely covered by one officer. Others require additional personnel because of the layout, public interaction, expected incidents or response duties. This should be decided through the assignment risk assessment rather than cost alone.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide the site postcode, required dates and hours, number of officers, expected duties, main risks and whether the requirement is temporary or ongoing. A site visit may be recommended before a final proposal is issued.
